Congratulations to Ms Aleksandra Kozlowski who won the Carbosynth prize for the poster entitled “New Insight into Heparin Degradation in Acidic Environments - the Influence of Time and Temperature”. She presented the results from her research at the RCS Carbohydrate Meeting at the University of Reading in early April 2019.
Ms Aleksandra Kozlowski with the winning poster
Aleksandra is an ambitious carbohydrate chemist and a PhD student at the University of Huddersfield. She has been investigating the chemical stability of heparin in aqueous solutions with the support of her supervisors and sponsorship provided by LEO Pharma A/S. Her main research interest lies in understanding the mechanisms and kinetics of molecular degradation caused by various external factors.
Aleksandra was pleased to receive the prize and commented: “My background is in Analytical Chemistry and I know that finding good quality standards is important when designing a good experimental protocol. Therefore, I have always valued high quality products such as those offered by Carbosynth.”
Carbosynth is a specialist supplier of carbohydrates and biochemicals, proud to support young researchers and their science. Every year we attend numerous conferences worldwide with our scientists and commercial specialists and we enjoy meeting our customers as well as talking to scientists about carbohydrate chemistry.
The next carbohydrate-focused events we are attending are the CBM13 in May (Toulouse, France) and the EuroCarb XX in June (Leiden, Netherlands). If you will be there, don’t forget to stop by our stand to learn about the new products, promotions and free gifts. We look forward to seeing you there.
