Dutasteride - Bio-X

A dual irreversible inhibitor of 5α-reductase isoforms 5AR1 and 5AR2 with IC50 of 6 nM and 7 nM, respectively. It supresses the production of dihydrotestosterone and has been used for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia, alopecia and hirsutism in women with polycystic ovary syndrome. In rodent models for Parkinson’s disease, Dutasteride reduced L-DOPA-induced dyskinesia without altering the therapeutic effect of L-DOPA.
